Job Posting - Web Developer

Hile Design is looking to expand its web team with a part-time or contractual developer. The qualified candidate will be responsible for the entire technical domain in a project, working with the client, designer and writer to scope, bid, build and roll out the site. Candidates should expect to work on site at Hile Design.

You'll have to be good at explaining technical issues to non-technical people and be an advocate for accessibility and website best practices.

You'll be doing these tasks:

• Working with designers early in the design cycle to provide feedback on comp direction
• Developing templates for WordPress or Joomla, using HTML, CSS, JS, PHP and relevant framework methods
• Designing sitemaps and wireframes for new websites
• Helping keep our Macs running, and helping maintain existing websites

You must have skill in these things:

• HTML
• CSS
• Javascript
• PHP
• MySQL

You should be comfortable with writing templates for WordPress and Joomla from day one.

The following skills are good to have:

• Familiarity with the jQuery library
• Limited Unix/Linux administration experience
• Mac administration experience
• Familiarity with other LAMP-related languages (Perl/Python)
• An opinion on vi vs emacs
